Story 1- Milo vs. the Mighty Spice Surprise

Milo jumped off the train first.
“Ahhh, India!” he announced, spreading his arms wide like a movie hero.
“Smells… interesting.”
Behind him, Luna adjusted her glasses and looked around carefully. The street was busy. Scooters zipped past. Shops sparkled with colors. People laughed, talked, waved.
Bobo sniffed the air deeply.
“Is this place… edible?” he asked hopefully.
Tiki the backpack cleared its zipper.
“Everything is edible if you’re brave. Or foolish.”
Milo grinned.
“Relax. This is easy. I’ve eaten food from everywhere.”
Luna raised an eyebrow.
“Have you eaten Indian food?”
Milo waved her off.
“How spicy can it be?”
That was the moment Tiki whispered,
“Famous last words.”
They didn’t walk far before Bobo froze.
“GUYS,” he said in a serious voice.
“There is a man selling tiny golden triangles.”
The street food vendor smiled and handed them plates.
“Those are samosas,” Luna explained. “They’re popular here.”
Milo puffed up.
“Perfect. I’ll show everyone how spice doesn’t scare me.”
Before anyone could stop him, Milo took a huge bite.
At first… nothing happened.
Milo smiled proudly.
“See? Easy.”
Then his eyes widened.
His smile melted.
His face turned red.
Very red.
“Is it… hot in here?” he croaked.
Bobo leaned closer.
“Milo, your ears are steaming.”
“I’M FINE,” Milo shouted, grabbing air.
“WHY IS MY MOUTH ON FIRE?”
People nearby giggled gently. One aunty handed Milo a cup.
“Drink this,” she said kindly.
Milo gulped it down.
“AHHH!” he yelled. “It made it WORSE!”
Luna laughed.
“That’s water. You need yogurt.”
Tiki sighed.
“I told him. I literally told him.”
Meanwhile, Bobo had discovered something new.
A cow.
A very calm cow.
Standing right in the middle of the road.
Bobo smiled politely at it.
“Hello. Do you know where snacks live?”
The cow did not answer.
Instead, it stepped closer… and sniffed Bobo’s samosa.
“Oh no,” Luna said. “Bobo, don’t move.”
Bobo froze.
The cow gently took the samosa… and walked away.
Bobo stared.
“…Did I just get robbed by a cow?”
Tiki zipped and unzipped itself in laughter.
“Welcome to India, kid.”
Milo finally recovered after yogurt, fans, and several deep breaths.
“Okay,” he admitted quietly, “maybe… slightly spicy.”
Luna smiled.
“Different places, different tastes. That’s the fun part.”
Bobo waved at the cow disappearing down the street.
“I respect her.”
As they walked away, Milo straightened up again.
“Well,” he said, “that went great.”
Tiki groaned.
“Oh no. He’s confident again.”

Next stop: a country where Milo thinks he understands everything…
(which is always a mistake).
